Poggio Morico
The name of Morico we find him already in 1066 as the son of Guido, and serves as a testimony in a donation made by a certain Godfrey Aldebrando to the abbey of Campolongo. It seems that the castle of Poggio Morico and Monte Luciano, of which vestiges remains good, had been destroyed near the war-Lord of Casacastalda Monaldo, in contrast with the children of Morico, owners of the two castles. Poggio, Morico's son has always been faithful to Assisi, and Assisi defended him as, for example, in 1380, when reinforced the Castle by Bartoletto of Techia of Assisi for fear of Charles Durazzo, allocated to Torchiagina to the service of Perugia. Between the castles damaged in 1497 by the Baglioni, against Assisi, you will find our Poggio, which remained in the municipal jurisdiction of Assisi until 1929, when it became part of the territory of Valfabbrica. The altitude of Poggio Morico (m.620 s.lm) has a wide horizon until you see a beautiful stretch of the Apennines, and most of the areas around. For its location is popular with tourists.
